Darn, though choice between h4 Bone dragon and the H5 shadow dragon. Both ar good looki'n the H4 are indeed the strongest and all but I go for the SPECTRAL dragon,( lordi its not shadow, correct it! Dungeon have the shadow dragon.) I like it the most because of the eerie, dark aura and the black bones + those nice oozy green eyes makes it look more necrotic.

For pure bone draginess the H2 boner wins hands down. Honorable mention goes to H5's spectral dragon for just the whole black misty coolness ;)

I like most of the Heroes II graphics over the rest, it just seems like heroes II has the cleanest, most well done artwork considering the graphics quality available to it :P

But H2 was a close second.

My candidate is the one and only Ghost Dragon from Heroes III.
I came to this conclusion by analyzing the unit's good sides and bad sides and comparing its appearance to other undead dragons +some other factors (artwork etc.)

Here's how my logical thinking went with Heroes III. So...
Always Look on the Bright (good) Sides first:
-Ageing ability. It really makes the unit a worthy opponent on the battlefield
-Whenever there's a Ghost dragon on the Hero's army, your opponents
morale will drop by 1
-Immune to all mind spells (=Undead) and poison
-can be brought back to life by the spell 'Animate Dead'
-I like the artwork
-I do like Heroes III (yeah I know, such a scientifically well-argued
reason) :)

Then let's look on the not-so-bright sides:
-slowest upgraded dragon in Heroes III
-only 200 health
-low attack and defense values
-vulnerable to all non-mind effecting spells

In my opinion, the good sides overcome the unit's faults. But then again, are the "faults" just an attempt to balance out the Ghost Dragon?

AFAIK, the Evolution threads are a vote on a unit's appearance, animation, sound, etc, rather than its abilities.

If you're going to argue for abilities, need I remind you that H2's Bone Dragon has all of those abilities except Aging, H4's Bone Dragon has all of those abilities, period. (I don't know about H5's.)

A not-so-often mentioned good side of the bone and ghost dragons from H3:
You can freely convert any living dragons OR hydra to bone dragons using the skeleton transformer. If you main army is necropolis, and you happen to be close to green, red dragon or hydra map structures, hire and convert all of them to bone dragons for eventually a massive ghost dragoin army!

As far as I know, the Evolution threads are a subjective vote on a unit appearing on the poll's listing.

Ghost Dragon - Heroes III

In my opinion the idea of Ghost Dragon is awesome - it's dark undead and original. I agree that they didn't made it perfect, but the concept rules.

Bone Dragon is good also , but it's too ordinary

I think that the Shadow/Specter Dragon - upgade H 5 - is also very cool , but I don't find it undead, it's not a ghost, but shadow there is a difference slight , but there is.

I was inspired by the Ghost Dragon so I made a little fan fiction story -

After one of the nombreous battles between the Black Dragons and the Titans, the wizards of the Academy, started to experiment with the fresh corpse of one ot the black monsters, and after one little magical mistake, they summoned his Ghost - It attack their minds and corrupt them. These were the first liches-necromancers who by the guidance of the Ghost dragon created the race of walking corpes and bloodlust vampires - Necropolis.
What do you thing about my idea :)))) I'm curious to your oppinion :)
