These effects clearly aren't part of the BDJ mod. Spears/Daggers/Staves were never converted to ranged weapons in Rev4, so this must be intentional and part of the survival mod.

Those modified ranged weapons are absurdly strong. If I restarted I would probably run archer archer archer cleric.

Yeah well, in MM8 there was absolutely no tinkering with the inventory, so I think it would be cool to get such a version for MM7 as well!

And don't forget to double the HP and XP of the unique monsters as well! I'm looking forward to fighting a jacked-up Tolberti!
