Story hasn't been particularly strong in any of the Heroes games, the Might and Magic role playing series was always where you'd get the strongest sense of things. Regardless, I play these games for the multiplayer hotseat with my cousins and sister =D

Even though I dislike many aspects of Heroes IV, one of the things I will not knock is the story. Most of the campaigns were actually well written, especially when compared to the mediocre generic fantasy garbage that is Heroes V's story.
Back from the dead? Maybe.

Rife wrote: The Academy campaign in H4 was probably the best story of the lot. Magnus, Solymr, Emilia Nighthaven... all intelligent, believable characters the like of which seem entirely nonexistant in Ashan.
Tawni Balfour was IMO the standout... she was one bad lady, and yet you couldn't really hate her. Gauldroth was trying too hard to prove he's right, otherwise he's great too.
