Yeah, Superman or a soap-opera with superpowers. Don't get me wrong i do watch it, i just don't delude myself that it's a good show.

What annoyed me the most was Kid Flash getting hit in the head with a gun. Anyone that fast should be able to just scan the room every other fraction of a second when he knows he's dealing with krimnals.

I've seen Smallville a couple of times and I really wasn't too impressed. I didn't quite understand why (an incredibly annoying) Lois Lane was in Smallville.

Don't you think Clark needs to be annoyed?

For Smallville, you have to accept that they are only borrowing elements from the main continuity. For instance, there's no Superboy, just Clark. Lois is there because it is fun to see her and because it lets the writers put in the teasers about her going to work at the Planet, falling for Supes, etc.

As to whether its a 'good' show, all I'll say is that there are some episodes that are better than others. And that Smallville is something different than cops, doctors, sitcoms, and reality shows that are on most of the time. I like the cast and the way the writers have strung stand-alone episodes together to create longer story arcs. Finally, I think Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor is one of the most intriguing characters ever to appear in a TV drama.

Post-Crisi the only Superboy around is a clone of both Supes and Lex Luthor. He's also dead (some lawsuit business apparently).

It's not a bad show, but it ain't god either. Lex and Clark are pretty well cast though.

The lawsuit was by the estates of Siegle and Shuster, who had been cheated out of the royalties for Superman. Though DC eventually won the suit, S&S did establish the claim that they had created Superboy, who was judged to be a separate character.

If Superboy is gone now, is there still a Legion?

That's the old one... DC didn't keep up the payments or something, and now Superboy is dead. I wonder what Superboy-Prime's status is.

The Legion is fine back in the future... they also got Supergirl atm, and probably that Daxamite guy (Valor i think) will take her place when she returns to the present. I would prefer them without a Deux Ex Machina though.

Well, I seem to have wandered off topic again, so let's get back to TV. Is anyone else watching Doctor Who? They are having a season 2 marathon on SciFi today and season 1 is running on BBCA.

It's become one of my favorite shows. Not grim as Galactica or flippant as Stargate. It draws on the grand DW tradition, but with much improved production values. And Billie Piper has been marvelous as the companion. (I guess she will be replaced as the 'death' episodes at the end of season 2 make it look like she has been written out. I only hope she will reappear somewhere else. What a cutie!)

While I'm on BBC, I should also mention that Patrick Stewart has a new show called 'Eleventh Hour' where he plays a professor investigating X-files-type cases. So far, pretty good.

Smallville's first new episode was last week and it was a goodie. BSG next Sunday. Lost Feb 8, I think. Heroes, I dunno.

Uck... Lex Luthor should never have children... unless he cloned them.

Is Heroes really that good? I've seen the first couple episodes and didn't feel particularly drawn in...

BTW, lovely title I have at 666 posts, innit? :D

Heroes is X-Men without the silly suits. The characters are interesting and well portrayed. The stories and direction are sharp, but the visual presentation is drab and often confusing. The overlapping storylines may overwhelm new viewers, but they make it more interesting for regulars. (And it got a lot better after the first episodes.)

Yes, the story is like a lot of seemingly loose threads that eventually come together and form the big picture.

Hyperdrive is a new Friday night comedy on BBCA. I don't think I've laughed so hard watching TV. It's a sharply written Trek parody with good sets and special effects. You really need to see this one.

In the US, we've already had two 2-hour episodes. Intense!
