They relied on mysticism and spirituality to push those plot holes under the rug. They spent several years implying that there might be something behind that island, but not it was just a playground for power-hungry castaways experiencing a mid-age crisis.

I sometimes feel like watching season 1 again just to remind myself how good (and occasionally creepy) Lost was, but I spent way too much time on that show already...

Yeah, I long for the innocence of season 1 as well, when the mere mention of the Others made you shiver...

I suppose the way they ended it was better than saying it was all just a *bad dream. This ending stuck to the 'mystical' theme of "It all works out in the end... even if you don't live to see it."

I'm still unhappy that they didn't toss in a dinosaur, somewhere, anywhere, just to make Regis Filbin (popular morning talk show host) happy. He's been saying that the smoke monster in the jungle is a dinosaur since season one. It would have been a funny way to say 'thanks' to someone who has spent a lot of time on the air promoting the show.

*(Dallas, the most popular prime time soap opera ever, actually had a 'dead' character wake up one morning and find out that the entire prior season was just 'a bad dream'. Talk about a BAD way to wrap up your gaping plot holes!)

Yes, but people are still talking about it after all these years. That has to be a good thing, no? :D

I remember that! :D Wasn't it that the actor quit, so they killed him, and then he regretted and wanted his steady dayjob back?

Basically, yes, that's what happened. I didn't even WATCH that show, but everyone knows about it and still talks about it decades later.

Was it that 'JR' guy? I think I read some Bizarro strip about that. :)

Same show. JR was the Patriarch and ring leader of the bunch. I think the dead one that was reselected was one of his sons.

You people know nothing, the guy was JR's brother... and JR was the one that got shot as a cliffhanger.

And i was 8-10 when i saw Dallas... for a while there i was sure i imagined the part where that chick woke up and Bobby was alive...

Actually back then Dallas was the only show on TV here basically.... then we started getting telenovelas.... actual usaian soaps like Young and the Restless came later, and i had Cartoon Network then...

Man, how far CN has fallen.... it was the BOMB in the 90's.

Anyone watching the Walking Dead? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1520211/

Created by Frank Darabont, the guy who brought us The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist. It's fab!

Catching up on Six Feet Under, now halfway through the series. Excellent acting, writing, directing... well everything.
