This is the latest gameplay video as of December, 24th, 2011. The video explores through the beginning of the game showing the new changes such as the combat, menu, interface, damage popups, and much more.

Great, video was really nice, can't wait for the final version and finally
play it at my pc : :-D

Right now I am playing Wizardry 8 (is my 3d try to finish it the last 10
years I think, is so damn hard!) so you can imagine how much I miss
the party based first person RPGs, LoE looks like a diamond to this genre,
really can't wait to play it, keep up the good work! :)

hope ya add shops signs, shop screens (like in MM6) and whatnot.

  • I'm afraid ticking sound in menus may get annoying. I think it's too loud.
  • It seems hard to track characters condition without health and mana bars.
  • At 4:45 there's a bug with first number (Maximus +something) display on the right side, it seems 0 is displayed underneath it.
  • I think there should be "Train All" option in training grounds. After each training the dialog shouldn't restart with Train/Goodbye, but should go to the list shown when you click Train.
My patches: MM6 MM7 MM8. MMExtension. Tools. Also, I love Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground. I'm also known as sergroj.

A while ago I began testing with different music and themes that will be implemented into LOE. I have now began the actual composing of the LOE OST. This is a string and choir symphonic composition. I am still working on it. My vision of the main theme to Erthia is going to be a full and complete orchestrated movement.

I think I will be adding the health bars back. The LOE facebook poll shows more people interested in having them back in LOE.

Yea, the health bars are pretty nice. I'm hoping you've got enough to release at least a demo soon for us ;)

Here is a recap of the updates since December 24th 2011:

- Minimum damage is now shown in the menus (before it used to be only maximum damage)
- New background pictures for dungeons and outdoor areas
- Fixed bugs in regards to traps going off even though the party would have the appropriate skills
- A new region (outdoor level) was added
- Balance changes in regards to enemy stats
- Many different traps have been placed across a variety of dungeons
- More story and in-game dialogue has been added to the game
- Parameter trainers (might, intellect, etc...) have been placed
- Damage and armor display has been fixed in shops (no more 0 that was always displayed by the first hero, comparing both min and max damage with old weapon and new weapon)
- 4 new quests have been added
- Quest log has been added
- Limited training per city has been added (like MM, before you could train anywhere at any level if you had the requited experience)
- A few new monsters added bringing the bestiary count to over 80 unique monsters not including upgrades (minotaur, minotaur king, etc...)
- Health and mana bars are back
- One complete LOE song and another in progress

Thanks Beaver! Unfortunately, it isn't complete quite yet. However, the engine, monsters, equipment, spells, etc are all in place. I also have pretty much all of the outdoor regions created. over 20 dungeons and all of the towns done. I think I got a bout 51 maps completed which is getting pretty close to MM6 for levels. Now what has to be done, is the quests, dialogue, and story. Of course I still have to make more dungeons for the quests. LOE is going to be a much bigger game than MM. However, workflow is smoother these last couple of months than it was the previous few months. Yo ucan expect a lot of updates.

Right now the keyboard functions are simple rpg maker built in. You press ESC to enter menu or cancel choices, press enter to to make choices, and use the arrow keys to move. However, I do have plans for shortcuts a little later. For instance, like assigning "I" for inventory, "q" for quick status, etc... I was testing the mouse a bit, but the way the game is played, the mouse would be more of a hassle than a help. It wouldn't be worth all of the time making it work with all of the other scripts.

I am thinking of making LOE a little higher in resolution. Here are some sample screenshots of the edits. I am using a different backdrop on the comparison screenshos. The higher resolution removes the black boxes and fills up the monitor.
