yeah Queltzacoath is a really good dragon idea, it is just a snake but with feathers.
More original but good :)

Most names for dragon come from old words for snake. ;)

I guess I was using the generic term "martial artist" (not very imaginative I know) for a level one unit, high speed/defence low damage. The monks I envisioned as some kind of magic unit with some hand to hand ability. The samurai could be shooters with one shot but two hand to hand strikes (Katana and Wakizashi). Spirits (kami?) also a magic unit. And of course, Nival would insist on a dragon...

Martial artist is a generic name applied to all that practice the arts of Ares, or Mars as he was known to the Romans.
be reasonable :p
Samurai we're basicaly knight with special swords, which can easily be given to my precious 6-armes lvl6 Naga. Actualy in DMoMM a Katana like weapon is called a Naga Silksword (i actualy love that name).
I'd probably disagree with samurai being basically knights with special swords, but thats a different topic ^^. Personally i think the whole concept has been done to death (and largely misunderstood) in far too many games.
A Medusa could easily use a composite bow, like the ones samurai had. Lizardmen could have some chinese halberd thingies (don't know the name). And at lvl7 they could have a oriental dragon, preferably called Quatzecuatl or something.
The bows samurai used (yumi) were usually over 2.5 metres long...
The chinese halberds i believe are called tombogiri (naginata in japanese).

I think if anything, the taller lizaardmen should use the bows and the naga use naginata :)

They were elite troops that had the best training available where they were from, and were a class in their own right, with their own rules of honor. Sounds the same to me. All the differences were based on cultural background.

I want the HoMM3&4 Naga back, that's why i'd like her to have swords.

As for bows, they just have to look like they're composite. It's not like they didn't have shortbows back then.
Yumi is the Japanese term for bows (which includes the longbow, Daikyu and the shortbow, Hankyu) used in the practice of Kyudo , or Japanese archery.
And the Medusa works better ranged, it's tradition. ;)
