I never said "IT rulz!!!11"! :disagree:
All games have bugs in it! Heroes of Might and Magic 5 has a few too, but I can forgive that, because the game is endless fun!
The support is awful because some people are whining too much! Ubisoft does not deserve it.

Did you ever heard of something called artistic freedom? You dont have to quote someone verbatim to summarize what someone said.

Understatement of the millenia.

I think they do,because this is not the first game I love they ruined. They did it with prince, and I knew theyd do it with heroes. Also, peoples reaction to the game has nothing to do with their lack of support. They never had it to begin with.

Just for clarification again:

THE SNOW APE IS CALLED YETI

Actually the new neutrals are pretty cool. Mummies can cast Raise Dead, foe example.

Thanx for being named this often, DL. :)

About Lava Dragon, it will be called Fire Dragon, by the way

Maybe now, but not in the begining. Just like the Lava Dragon (which i already mentioned). Actualy the first names they annouced have been mostly changed.

As for Salamanders, they're supposed to be small creatures that only breed in fires and there actualy are real animals called that, and that's where the legend probably comes from, coz they were found under rock that were used around fires and stuff.
close. the association of salamanders with fire comes from the fact they often can be found inside of logs with hollows in them, people who tossed these logs on a fire would see the salamanders crawl out of the log (to avoid being burned obviously), and come to the wrong conclusion.

as to all the naming issues, don't forget that Wizards of the Coast has the trademark on most DnD names for mythological creatures, and so game developers have to be careful about what names they use for creatures without license.

If I've never said how much WOC has ruined the DnD franchise, let me do so now.

I doubt that they can ™ real mythological names, Salamander and Drake included.

And i like the 3rd Edition myself.

You can't trademark generic terms, so most mythologic creatures are fair game. More specific names like Illithiad would pose problems.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

While WotC could very well cause mischief for those who use the names that Gary and his crew come up with on there own, they normally choose not to. Why, you may ask? There is no better publicity then free publicity. So fanmade stories, settings, and such are not only not halted, they are normally encouraged. More people see, read these things, the more may get interested in finding what it's all about. Why do you think they never made a publicity campain when all the hubbub went arround that D&D was satanic, ect. First they were too busy laughing, then they were too busy laughing all the way to the bank (from rebellious teens ect buying the goods to see why all the parents didn't like it). So Ubi or whoever makes a few bucks off of one of there creatures...guess who benifits the most? Anyhow, Ubi and co could learn a few things from this approach. Sponser contests. Storylines, creatures, towns, artwork, graphics...draw on the talent that is profuse ammoung people who normally play these types of games. Encourage, don't discourage. Contriversy is also benificial, because that drawls attention to there work also. Sure pay a few bucks to WotC secretly then have WotC raise a stink about it for a little..then claim a settlement has been made..guess what...awesome publicity for both and more money.

Besides the thread is about the lava/magma (or however they are going to do this) dragon right? Well I am almost positive that there are plenty of other (fire, ice, whatever) creatures that would fit. And if they want a dragon, why not make it a bit different at least. Could be worse though..could be something like Lavabeast/Cyberwinglavabeast (ala yu-gi-oh). Mind you Yu-gi-oh is ok, but even Ubi can come up with some better names then they did :).

Naah, all evidence points to 'NO!' And cyberwinglavabeast is more imaginative than some things of ubi's :devious:
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

They need something to cool them down at night??? No seriously, I guess because they live now in cold mountains? Or that would be my best guess.

@Mytical

Sure, wizards dont enforce their copyright on regular joes, but thats understandable because they can get just peanuts from them. But ubisoft is a big company, and suing them would bring them heaps of cash,so I doubt they wouldnt enforce their copyright on someone as big.
