Patch 1.3 and Editor Now Available
After 8 towns it gives you a warning message. But it does allow you to add more than 8 towns. UT just posted a screenshot showing a quickly made map with 9 towns on it. It works fine.

Patch 1.3 and Editor Now Available
Ok, the fix for the console is posted in the "1.2 cheats" thread over in the main forum (hattip to Joe).
I tested the mods we have with the new patch, and find the same issue as with 1.2. so far, just updating the dates on the mods makes them work again, just like with 1.2.
I've already uploaded a fixed version of the sev mod.
Open the 'input.cfg' in NotePad, and add the line
bind show_console '`'
just beneath the
bind confirm_action 'NUM_ENTER'
-line"
This information is from the below thread at the official forum:

Oh my... It says 2 days & 20 hours to download the patch
Patch 1.3 and Editor Now Available
I know most everyone's checking out the editor and has comments about that; but, I want to whine about two things that have been present since 1.0 and noone seems to have ever mentionned them:
One, the wait command 'w' _still_ isn't a button on the lower-right combat menu. I mean why can't it be added, or at least replace 'flee'. Who needs a hot button for 'flee' - just make it 'f' or whatever.
Two, the issue with the hero trade screen is still present. If you haven't experienced this, here it is: If a hero with more than 10 artifacts in his backpack initiates a trade with another hero, then the 11th and on artifacts are unaccessable (the right scroll arrow doesn't work for the left-hand/initiating hero). You can avoid this by moving artifacts you want to trade into the 1 through 10 slot prior to the trade or reverse the order of which hero initiates the trade (as the second hero's right scroll button always works). However this is annoying and should have been fixed by now.
Quite frankly, the wait issue annoys me so much, I was wanting that fixed more than an editor...don't get me wrong, I _really_ wanted the editor, but come on guys!

@ Sir_Toejam: I have no idea how to change the date and repak a mod. Will reinstalling it serve the same purpose?
Patch 1.3 and Editor Now Available
I have already downloaded it and I can say the map editor looks great, but how easy it is to work with is another question... And ,alas, my computer is too slow for it(3-4 seconds of lag just to move a town from some place to another)
it will take a bit of getting used to, but still, it is something.
I am currently working on map, but it is mostly a test map to try out what the editor can do. Nevertheless, I will produce a map in a couple of weeks(at least I hope it will be that soon).
Still haven't tried the other features.

Well, it sure looks like a proper editor to me... I'm sure the fans will be able to do something with this.

Is there an option to DISABLE the hotkey for the flee button? It's a decision that you don't make often, and an accidental key would be fatal.
Patch 1.3 and Editor Now Available
There's no real need for it, as even if you did accidently press it, you still get a requestor pop up to confirm it... In other words a double "accidental" key press is highly unlikely...
I THINK SO THEREFORE I AM

you just need to open the .pak file with winzip or winrar, then open the files inside the pak with a text editor and then make a small change (like add a space, then remove it), save the file, then repack as a .pak file using "store" with winzip or winrar.I have no idea how to change the date and repak a mod. Will reinstalling it serve the same purpose?
the idea is, you just need to update the date stamp on the files inside the mod, as the game uses whatever it considers the most recent.
no, reinstallation of the mods will not fix this by itself.
