Question about play disk

So after settling in at college after a couple weeks, I decided its time to forgett about calculus and zone out with some HoMM5, yet much to my dismay, it appears though I brought the box and all the install disks, the somewhat important green play disk was not in the box. I assume its at home somewhere, but Im not going gome for some time, and I dont want to wait that long. I dont know much about no-cd cracks, but i have a few questions. I assume ill still be able to play my saved games, I assume Ill still be able to play online, but what I was most worreid about, can I install patch 1.3 when it comes out? Any knowledge is appreciated.
