Gosh, that's too bad. I seem to be the only one to strongly dislike this game outfit. It just has no heroes spirit. I liked previous sets where you see a hero and a huge army behind him ... this box here is really nice in terms of art technique, but the idea is just plain dumb. Remove the headline and it could be the art for any game out there - no intuition in it whatsoever ....

And the helmet looks like a thousand of helmets from fantastic and middle-age movies, it doesn't look like boba fett's that much ...

On the other hand, I am happy with this as a sign that game actually is finished (or close to that, whatever) and hopefully there will not be a delay it going gold ...

I think the cover is alright so far, but the backround armies could be a little more present, but either way, If the game is good, then I can care less about the cover.
Holding on is easier, then letting go.

Have you heard it? That the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 will be release on 21 February 2006. That is a good news.

Sure its good news? I think not! For me it seems that H5 will be rushed, I say at least polish the game as much as possible (can never get enough of polishing games) and realease the beast around March. I dont want a patch game, real good quality games dont need patches well unless it can remove SF in some way =P

There will be a very good strategy game too in February it can be really make hard too buy only Heroes5 and put this good game to the top,, its name is Battle for Middle Earth2 release on 28 February. I also like fme series expectly this second one the new trailer showed it can be compare to Rome total war like in map, or tactics, formations, and in your battalions arrangement(or settlement). And I also wait for the hungarian languge type of Heroes5. When it will be release Nival?

There is infact a battle going on in the background between inferno and haven. IMO it's a beautiful box shot. I'm just wondering who this knight is. His armor looks nice but not that personal. Is he mentioned in the storyline?

@ Igoraki: Nope, it's official. I spoke to Fabrice and he confirmed it. It's not a FINAL draft of it, but it IS official.

it's way better than the H4 boxart. wasn't that one just a clover of sorts with the different alignments? either how, it sucked major ass.

this one should have the background armies more present but overall I really like the idea. the character in front shows depth in the picture which always is nice in my book. and the fact that he seems anonymous kinda shows how battle is anonymous. no one will care for your name, age, family etc on the battlefield.

Yes, you are right - there is a battle going on, but I could not have told that until I had zoomed in at 400%. The army is too far and hidden in a cloud of dust (fog of war ? :P ). IMO it would be much better if the armies stretched all the way to the hero where you can see them at close as they rush into battle, and then at the horizon you see them fighting by the castle. In a way that's a story that this box should be telling, but the artist was far too lazy to draw it properly - he used as few drawing as possible ... I mean - what's with the grass? That should be legions of brave peasents rushing to die honorably.

The Misterious armoured guy lacks character. Also why is he starring at us? Is he trying to hypnotize me into bying the game? No need - I'll buy it anyway ;p He is better off with waving his sword at the enemy or something ..._Smu666ler

did anyone notice it looks like the succubus is shooting while flying? that could prove to be a very neat characteristic. I don't know how it would be utilized, but I like it nonetheless.

True, the battle should be bigger. Hey, now that I think about it, it sort of looks as if the stupid knight walked infront of the camera when they were taking the shot of the battle by the castle!

Seriously maybe he is one of those mysterious "dragons". Dragon of light perhaps.

heh... these things are sweet :)

The pre-order has just started :)

There will be a music CD, a world map, a box like the one in the picture shown by carosh. Also... a disc with some exclusive materials ("making of..." + some graphic and interviews)

PS

I can't even pre-order it... the interest was so big that it caused some technical problems in their on-line shop :/

Marcus333 -> Where are you from???

Judging by your full name, you are a German... Or maybe you live in Austria/Switzerland???

Can you pre-order the game there? I only know the content of CDP's Polish edition of the game. If you know of any other, link some sites/pics ;)

I'm curious, how it might look abroad.

dragonn -> Maybe in other countries...

Who promised a figurine?

And why should we need a figurine? We've got a big wooden chest ;D

Knowing such editions, they might have put some HoMM5 screws/hammer/pencil :)

It's not that bad
