Heroes of Might & Magic backstory

Hello!

I've been a longtime fan of the series, and massively enjoyed Heroes 3 and Heroes 6. I've never paid any attention to the backstory though (Irina's campaign was the only exception - she was awesome as leader of the cool naga faction.)

In anticipation of the new game, is there anywhere I can read a brief synopsis of the world of Might & Magic, preferably in timeline form?

Meh. It can be summed up easily - everyone's a jerk and everyone worships drgaons (for some reason), though the necromancers' dragon is a big spider or something.

I miss the days when devils were aliens from a far-away world, when Sandro schemed behind every plot, when genies with mother complexes hunted Azure dragons and in general, things were FUN.
