This is great news! Maybe we could have a fan contest for new maps as well.

That'd be nice if it was usable. As in, not worse than the original. Mandatory Steamworks is worse than the original, though. Also, at least RoE does have a native Linux version. So I'm not holding my breath until there is more information.

I think i need a thread of my own just to cry out all the good time memories I have with the site and community. Congrats to the people who are keeping it going after all this time and to the developers who kept improving it. Every time I visit the site it brings me back to happier and careless times and it's amazing for me to see that it runs still based on code and design done 10 years ago. Btw, are you guys still using my sister as password? ;|

No info about that yet, no. If possible, we will of course continue to host new maps and encourage fans to make updated maps for the HD version.

And no, Karyll, we are not.

Besides art, is any other part of the game being remade? It could use some other touch-ups in the gameplay department.

Also, H3 is the only hydra with distinct heads. Take notes future homm. :creative:

They have only RoE source code. RoE does not have random map generator. So once you have played the few crap maps they designed to advertise, you are done. Let's see if the price takes into consideration the very limited game-play life.

What about generating maps in the original and playing them on the HD version?

Oh, and it strikes me as odd that they have to paint over the things. I would have expected them to have the original 3D Max files. But apparently they only have limited access to the original resources...
