Don t you understand that in the demo the battlefield was a normal size one , so I think a Grids squares depends on the battlefields size.

SQUARE, thats what. Good golly, you guys complain endlessly that h5=h3 as if you were the first people to say that, and then you COMPLAIN AGAIN when an H4 feature is included. "



Even being square, this grid is MUCH MORE SIMILAR to h3 one than to h4 one.



Said this... I reafirm myself in the "clone" theory (underestood as "highly similar to h3, and main, disctintive, ideas of h4 abandoned") unless proven otherwise.



Of course the game is not going to be a carbon copy of H3 (if that is what you underestand as a clone)... however, as it is now, it looks much like as a redrawing - it has different elements, but it is basically H3.

I just wanted to clear up something that some people here are overlooking. The forum post that states that there will be no caravans...that post ALSO states that some of this information is old. The caravan portion of it IS old. The only new stuff in that list is the last third of it. And even that is skeptical. Nival doesn't make the final decisions on ANYTHING. This Larissa person has not checked her information with Ubisoft in the past and until I hear it from Ubisoft, I'm ignoring the Nival stuff. Ubisoft has stated that they're considering bringing back some of the old heroes. They've never strayed from that statement, so I'm going to assume that it's still the case.



In regards to the square grid versus the hex grid. If you take a minute and look at it, you'll notice that the square grid actually gives you MORE movement options than the hexgrid does. 8 directions versus 6 directions. Concerning the "turtle" strategy of surrounding your archers...this is no more difficult to achieve than it was with the hex system. Because many of the troops are more than one or 2 squares in size. Some are even 4 squares in size. So truthfully, I see this as a non-issue.



I only really wanted to point out that you shouldn't put too much faith in the quotes from Nival. They've been rather suspect in the past, and in my eyes they still look rather "iffy" at best currently. Now that Fabrice is out of the hospital and hopefully back to full health, we'll see some news and some updates in the next few days. *crosses fingers*

My view on the 'clone' issue, is simply I dont care! Its a new heroes, and I am xited for this! I love H-3, I dont care if 5 a 'clone' or not! I just wanna play! Aint anybody with me? Isnt anyone still happy for new Heroes?

To Sir Charles:

Ubisoft did just that, already.

A month ago, I purchased, within a bin of "to be sold cheapest as possible in order to liquidate the whole clutter of old software" a well repackaged version of HoMMI for a mere 5$ canadian at Giant Tiger.

I even took the time to install it and, play a whole small scenario.

You should have seen my own face when I saw the awesome opening of the game while booting itself up. Ubisoft really did outdo itself this time. It sounds better(music and sound effects alike) and plays even better than HoMMII for crying out loud.

Ubisoft even implemented the factor of very fast units get to fight/attack way more often than the slow and very slow units.

That's when you get to see the awesome importance of the Haste spell onto any slow unit within the contingents alignment during any combat fought.

Okay, just want to say some stuff.

@ Sir Charles:

Yes, the square grid offers more movement options, but the hex grid offers more attack options. The 'turtle' strategy was great for surrounding shooters on 6 sides, square only allows 4. And the square grid is like playing chess, i mean, chess is cool once and a while, but its heroes not chess....

Yeah, I agree with you too. No matter what, H5 will be its own game, and it will be unique in its own ways, no matter how similar it is to its prequels.
