The new Heroes games produced by Ubisoft. Please specify which game you are referring to in your post.

Map is specifically made for every town in addition to artifact balance. This map was developed and fine-tuned for years now. The guys I am talking about are the absolute best in HoMM3 I've ever seen and fought against. I'm talking about a level of play where they know the damage payload - to defense of each and every unit by heart - before their marksmen gets a turn they know EXACTLY how many dread knights they are going to kill. Reading how anyone says how they can't play ANY town is.. just, hilarious, really. You're entitled to your opinion about game balance, but until you've proven to me that you know better than these guys I'm just going to assume you aren't.

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Fortress is an underpowered town, and I'm not just talking about from the point of view where I beat the living daylights out of it. Fortress is the town I play and like most after Dungeon, but I can't deny how masochistic it can be to play with it.

That's because Caesar 3 came out about the same time H3 did... but if they can recreate that in 3D then why not something a bit older?! It's not like they have to keep the pixelaxion too (looks at your avatar).

What, I've kept the pixelation :)

I think this was just the best looking BD in all of the series. The H3 one didn't look or sound that menacing.

It's definitely not as pixeleted as in game... unless H2 looked way better then i remember resolution-wise...

Whats with all the hate for H5? I agree that when it was released it was far from stellar and smooth experience but after first exp and by Tribes of East I had tons of fun with it. Honestly.

And what you all mean by slow game due to 3D graphics? are you talking about AI taking a long time to end turn? or what? the AI did take a while (but not that bad as some ppl portray it here) and it has nothing to do with graphics at all, its CPU depended not GPU, prolly bad coding by devs.

You have just provided the answer to your own question.

The main criticisms the community has raised against H5 are: 1) that it took two expansions for the game to be polished properly, 2) that the AI was incredibly slow (and stupid, but we'll let that one lie), and 3) that the resource requirements were too high.

I still enjoyed vanilla H5, with the other 2 expansion it made it much better though. And resource requirements being high is just a different approach that H5 took, as compared to H3 say where you had thousands of units in H5 you had them in tens/hundreds, nothing wrong with that. In H3 you could buy all creatures most of the time, in H5 you had to make a decision.

lol, at first i also thought he meant that, but he used "Resources" in strategy game ;|

I have to agree that since we passed the era where PC games required 1MB operating memory and 300MB hard drive space, programmers seem to have not been optimizing games properly. They are just using the massive amount of power (at low price) that is available right now.

Its ridiculous to see games like Crysis and Metro 2033 barely work on new computers. Because there is gigs of ram and gigahrtz of power they abuse it like crazy! My friend just got a i7 2600K to play Supreme Commander and although it runs great it still doesnt utilize all cores at 100% and slows down on huge maps with tons of units (and I think it should not on a 4 year old games with top of the line hardware).

All in all when H5 was released, I dont think it was very demanding, I played it fine on a 2 year old hardware.

I hope devs will start coding for multi-core, we barely have games that use 2 cores , not talking about 4+ which is sort of standard now...

Not one iota. This is the first time I have not been pumped about the pending release of a Might and Magic themed game. H5 just blew dog.

I wouldn't say I'm 'really hyped' but I am cautiously optimistic about the game. Certainly tidbits of information have been released that pique my interest. For example, I'm very curious to see whether the gameplay actually flows better with the simplified resource structure. I like the new art direction. I'm also very interested in hearing more of Paul Romero's soundtrack.

On the other hand, I wouldn't say I'm obsessing over the details of the game. It probably won't be a day-one purchase, but I am still cautiously optimistic.

It always puzzles me why folks bother to declare their 'un-hyped' status for this game. If in fact you were completely indifferent to the game, then you probably wouldn't bother posting in this topic on these hallowed boards....

Black Hole look set to deliver the lushest looking Heroes ever. Sure, some design decisions may have ostracised traditional fans of the series, but I think so far they've added more than they've taken away.

I'm hyped for it anyway ;)

The guys are undoubtedly talented, and the more I see, the more I think that this game will be a massive improvement over H5.

I think the next beta will determine whether I'm properly hyped or not.
