Dragon's Fate campaign

Hi everyone,

I just got Winds of War for Christmas (yay!) and I'm working on Jeff's Dragon's Fate campaign, and I'm stuck on the second map. I don't remember being prompted for a quest to open the gate at the top of the map to get to Neska. I've done all of the other quests, so I'm not sure what I'm missing. If anyone can remember this or knows this, I'd really appreciate it.

I've tried e-mailing Jeff, the map's creator, but his e-mail address is no longer valid.

Doesn't the text when visiting the Quest Gate tell the conditions?

Neska, is within and only Talon using the Emerald Bow and Flaming Sword will open this prison.

Be sure, that ONLY Talon, resp. Talon ALONE, is in your army.

Ok, that helps, but only to a point. I haven't been prompted to search for the flaming sword. My win conditions still only mention searching for clues in the family farm (I've got the logbook, and Talon read through what he could), and to have the bow. I've got the bow, and but I've learned nothing about the sword. I figure the two obelisk quests have to do with getting the sword, but where do I go to get that quest?

If you have dealt with Theritos and rescued Northern Glen, you have to revisit Anium in the hut near West Grove. There it is, when Aniums tells you to find the Flaming Sword.

"Good, has there been any word of Neska?"

"Yes, Neska is being held in an underground prison. The entrance is along the northern border, but an ice mountain blocks the entrance which is guarded by ice demons. To get by the ice mountain you will need the Flaming Sword. Now my scouts have located the owner of the sword, his name is Gavin, and he's retired and living near the barbarian town of Garloch. Good luck if we break the spell controlling Theritos or his friends, I will send word to you."
[Victory condition changed]
You need the bow made by the local craftsman and the Flaming Sword.

Not far from the Barbarian town Garloch Talon finds the house of Gavin - Purveyor of Fine Swords.

[Quest-log entry]
Get the Demon Fire Potion from Vireos and the Fire Resistance Potion from Helios and have Talon return to receive the Flaming Sword.

... and after you have gotten the Sword:

[Victory Condition Changed]
Talon must go to the icy mountain with the Flaming Sword and the Emerald Bow.

But that will only happen, if Talon has heard all about his past in East Gorge.

Maybe, you have forgotten to revisit Anium in his hut before?

Ahhhhh, I see, I see! I didn't go back to the quest hut after I rescued Northern Glen. (I got distracted by the side quest of saving the town from the fires!) That town's since been overtaken by the green character, and he's pretty dang powerful, so I may have to start my game over, but at least I know where I went wrong. But I'll hit the quest hut just in case.

Sorry the email in the readme is out of date, I will update that the next time I update DF. You could have PMed me and those do get to me. However it has been 'years' since I have looked at DF. Koni is far more current, but feel free to contact me if you need more help.

Ack! I didn't even think of PMing you ... sorry about that! Thanks to Koni, I finally made it. I was looking everywhere for that last quest hut, and I found it. (Blended nicely with the brown turf. lol) I may contact you later, as I'm having some problems getting on with the third map. I'm going to give it a few more goes before I look for help.
