I wouldn't really call the paper mache look they have more realistic, they just have way better proportions.
You not liking the color scheme hardly changes anything.
A scheme implies having a variety of colours... or at least some better definition between different elements... D3's biggest graphical problem is that even with the contrast and brightness adjusted for more light you still have trouble telling stuff apart on the adv map etc.

You're entilted to your opinion. I like it more than I do HOMM V or D2.

And your entitled to your opinion, but not to having your opinion exempt from criticism ... And if you actually think D3 looks better then D2 your opinion is so wrong.

Again, you opinion. Which happens to be opposite of right.

Which happens to be opposite of right.
Left.

But D2 had more vibrant environments, better colour contrast and range and everything didn't look like it was made from paper-mache... while your argued that D3 has, and i quote: "More polygons, crisper textures, higher color range = BETTER." , and one of those is lost against D2.

The only point that can't be objectively compared is the concept art, which is great for both games, and its hard to find any objective criteria to judge them.

Just to be complete, here's what Xhane said on facebook
as I wrote in the general comments, It does not really replace any previous creatures. You'll have lot of surprises towards the Inferno creatures. :) What I can tell you is that in the tier system we talked about already (core, elite, champion creatures); the Juggernaut is an elite creature.

Why can't I get the word "Balrog" out of my mind? ^^

Btw, I want the faction line-ups. Now.

My mistake, I forgot that Champion is above Elite.

Nose-dive into their meals? Demons aren't exactly known for their refined manners. :P
And there was much rejoicing...
"You want a piece of me?!"

The art direction remains somewhat childish with these ridiculous weapons and armors - especially regarding the Haven troops, where even the most basic infantry is equipped with ornameted plate mails and sophisticated looking offensive armament. At least for the time being however, the concept art and the actual units look better compared to what we have in HoMM V.
