I meant that there isn't any picture of the hero on which you put the artifacts. The system is the same, but the graphics isn't.
Some of them hand out abilities (that's waht they say they do, haven't seen any such ability yet), and there's some statboosters that also makes you immune to spells. Though overall, there isn't many new ideas.

The paperdolls in Heroes 4 looked great because there was one for each hero type. I wonder why they didn't implement it? There's been a paperdoll in the game ever since Heroes 3.

How does this artifacts-for-creatures feature work? Can anyone give a specific example?

You take youor wizard hero, go to a town, select what combination of bonuses you want on the artefact, pay the required resources, have it created, and place it on a stack of creatures, where it sticks around. That's about as much as I know of it.

Is the artifact created instantly, or do you have to wait a day, two...? And what kind of bonuses can you give to the artifact? The kind of bonuses Warlord's Banners give in WoG? Can you get rid of the artifacts?

I'm asking all this because I guess it's present in the beta. If it's not, then sorry. :D

It depends on your wizard's skill as artifact maker. At basic you can add only one bonus, at advanced you can add two on expert three. So on basic je can make for example a +2 to hitpoints and put it on a stack of creatures and they get a +2 bonus to health. On advanced you can combine 2 bonuses on one artifact, but the resource cost gets more expensive. For example +7 to intiative and +3 to attack and again put it on a stack and the whole stack gets those bonuses to their stats. On expert you can combine three bonuses, it costs more. So again for example +2 to health, +3 attack, +2 morale on some stack. Yes you can switch the artifacts between stacks but only when you're in the town and have built the building that allows you to build artifacts. Also, those aren't all the bonuses, i just gave you some examples on how it works like. I hope you get the picture.

And yes they're created instantly if you have the resources that is. You can create as much of them as you like as long as you have the resources.

Ok, thanks. And what happens when you split a stack that has an artifact?

Guess one of the stacks keep the artifact, to get rid of one use the melt artifact ablity to regain mana:D , there may be other ways to get rid of them, maybe you can sell them at artifact merchant? ;|

Artifact goes to one of them. You can tell which since it's in the extended stat window.
