Because i was engaged in some epic debates about heroes... and everything else too. Even if i never got why anyone would have a huge argument about HoMM battles that they could just test out with some help from the editor.Corribus wrote: Btw, why do I get the feeling that GC's statement was a poke at me? It was predicable. We lost a lot of the mapmakers because of the crappy editor. And we lost a lot of players because of the lack of maps. As best I can tell the multiplayer community pretty much abandoned us too.
That leaves mainly the 'social' contingent, which I enjoy -- the Hell and Math/Science topics have been really good. But the 'fun' topics are increasingly polluted by vast amounts of jibber jabber. For every 'Bizarre' posting there are ten comments, and ten more comments about the comments, etc. It's almost to the point where they aren't worth the effort.
I guess what I'm saying is that I am on the brink of joining the MIA. Unless the next update renews my enthusiasm for the game, I am apt to become an occasional lurker.

Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you'll be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes.

And I am truly happy to hear it. We did not banter very much, but I enjoyed the few exchanges we did have in the old 3DO forum.Hannibal Barca wrote:The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.jeff wrote:Of the moderators from the 3DO forum, Hannibal Bacara showed up for awhile, but even he hasn't been around for 2+ years. I was rather burned out with the gaming world for awhile. 3DO kind of did that to many people.
After a long vacation I am starting to get back into it. Baby steps of course but I am finding it doesn't annoy me anymore.
I haven't seen much of the old crew. I lurk Hooloovoo's blog from time to time. The rest I have lost track. Last I heard some where working on games for cells but that is about it.
I have only heard a few bits and pieces of old timers. I think Lord Roberts has a kid now. Rib was working on a tribute game.
I should wander by Ubi and look around.....
Not surprising I am only a faint memory as so many others were far more active. I still remember falling for that last April Fools day joke all of the mods pulled. Rib is currently taking an extended break from the MMT project, but said she would return in December. You will find many of the old, and probably more familiar members of the old forum still active here, again welcome back.Hannibal Barca wrote:I haven't seen much of the old crew. I am not missing Peteus too much. As much as I learned about him, I felt he was often more into proving his own correctness than figuring out the "truth". While people bound to idees fixes may argue a lot, I prefer people who can walk in other shoes and do not ignore logic once they meet it. (No insult intended, but an honest opinion.)Gaidal Cain wrote:I'm missing PeteusMax. And Banedon. And the main thing that forces me to log in once in a while nowadays are those porn spams, which I have to moderate out and keep for only my own pleasure...
PS. Is there a connection between eating mushrooms and arguing about creationism? :p just a random thought.

Oh yes! The April Fools prank! One of my finer moments was the resignation later.jeff wrote: Not surprising I am only a faint memory as so many others were far more active. Rib taking a break? I am shocked! Ahh well. It's good to rekindle the juices. I fully understand it.
Thanks again for the kind greeting!

Not really. Every blue moon I would check on Sarges place but he kind of got burned out and left the gaming scene. chatted with Rommie off and on. She is married now.arturchix wrote:I'm fine, still in good condition, fighting for greater good. Have you been participating in any other forums lately? I think I saw you in an Army Men forum but that was good two years ago or even more. Can you link to Hooloovoo's blog perhaps?
