I'll take the dispelling any day over the 25 strength. Mainly because there are Giant belts that can jack up your strength but there aren't many weapons that dispel on strike.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Nice little debate :D.

Ahem!
So, what's the best bow in BG2?

Progress report: Chapter 5 (still). Finished Werewolf Island (which leaves Durlag's Tower...for tomorrow...

After that, it's mop up in Baldur's Gate and a trip back to good ole Candlekeep. :)

Got a whole lot of cash with a Charm exploit (not that I truly needed it; had around 85,000 before doing the exploit). The game has a few minor bugs, but that one is just game-breaking (theoretically infinite cash).

there's not that many great bows in BG, Composite Long Bow +1 isn't bad, the xbow of speed can be good, can't recall the bonuses of the marksmanship bow

the ones in ToB are just great though

Meh, I never had a problem dealing with someone putting magic on themselves.

that's a good point too, my Inquisitor takes care of most of the magical buffs, he's fantastic for that (in BGII of course)

it's not to start with, starts as the Holy Avenger which is a two handed sword +5, you can get cespenar to upgrade it in ToB, you get it originally in BGII, can't remember where exactly but if you're really interested I can find out

I like the completed flail of ages too, great for trolls and just about anyone really :D hence I dual wield this with Crom Faeyr on my cleric, she's nuts!

Flail of Ages
Equipped Abilities:
Free Action
5% bonus to Magic Resistance

Combat Abilities:
33% chance each hit that target will be slowed (no saving throw)

THACO: +5 bonus
Damage: 1D6 + 6, +2 Acid Damage, +2 Cold Damage, +2 Fire Damage, +2 Poison
Damage, +2 Electrical Damage

Woah...that's an insane amount of damage! 8|

Especially since in BG1, you are a god with the Long Bow of Marksmanship and Arrows +2. :D

I mostly go with Gesen's bow, since I like being able to disregard the use of arrows (The fact that I only use bows on my mage/thieves might also have something to do with it).

Not with Keldorn around... Well, except for that dragon that comes with protection from abjuration, but then there's mages.

I don't believe the Gesen Bow is in BG, it's a BGII item from memory

bah! to Keldorn, my pally does the trick nicely

super call GC! :D

I assumed .... duh! well then for BG2

Tuigan Short Bow +1 has the whole 3 shots per round thing, which works for me, but for pure power the Strong Arm +2 does the thing for me, Heartseeker is also good

Thanks for the info stefan! :D

Progress on BG: Done!

That final battle...I just went straight for Sarevok...his companions are insanely high-leveled.

I kinda got owned a few times after the mage used Chain Contingency...and Feeblemind...and Chaos :S

Boots of Speed + Oil of Speed + Long Bow of Marksmanship + Arrows of Piercing = One dead Sarevok :D

Those mages HURT!!!

I'm still in Irenicus' Dungeon in BG2, but I have some stuff from BG1...

Such a cheap import exploit it is...but if I can't keep my 100,000+ gold from BG1...then I'm keeping some of my stuff! :D

And I have 2 copies of the Golden Pantaloons too...interesting. :)

That's one of the few quests I never bothered with mainly because I forgot to import my character. But can you blame me for not wanting to just be a straight up bread and butter paladin?
