Certainly, the added spells was something much more needed than the alternative upgrades. I'd rather prefer that they implemented just some additional upgrades in the chaotic style the we all like and devoted more time to create even more spells.

It would be nice if they added so many spells that we could have again the classical 5-4-3-2-1 mague guilds line up.

I'd like to see the martyr spell as a lv3 light magic from homm4.
(very useful to protect creatures with low hp but high damage)

Blade Barrier? The summon school already has Fire Wall, which would seem the same unless Blade Barrier is actually a physical barrier that prevents enemies from passing and damages anything that strikes it. If it has lots of hit points it could be useful, otherwise not.
It wouldnt be the same, the blade barrier should not even be passable to go through.

Btw, why Destructive (my favorite magic school - guess why ;) ) has only one new spell? :( While summon has three :disagree:

You could mod for example clerics to have vampirism in their spell book, but its effect doesn't exist in the code so the spell wouldn't be usable.

I think there are only pictures, id and descriptions of spells included in HoF, but they are not done code-wise at all.
As far as I know divine vengeance works and can be modded.

Indeed.

I'd like to see a return of the Death Ripple spell, or even better, Death Wave. I know the game already has Curse of the Netherworld, but it just seems worthless as a level 5 spell.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

The new Sylvan druid unit has a spell stoneskin. It must be different from endurance.

Something reminiscent of Cure from Heroes 3 would be really handy (not necessarily with the dispelling part as well). Then you'd be able to choose who gets healed without having War Machines. Master of Blessings could give you Mass Cure.
Raising skeletons from dead units (or having more summonable creatures in general) would be quite good too...

Or it's just typical Ubival forgot-we-had-a-new-unnecessary-name-for-every-spell-that-even-we-ourselves-forgets-half-the-time-ishness.

So true..
Old names were better anyway :)
So... druid has Stone Skin spell which in Ubisoft language is - Endurance.

(Spell animation is still stone skin tho) :))

So either Stoneskin=endurance or Stoneskin=something new.

The Elder Druid has endurance, lightning, and stone spikes (and also has manafeed). As far as we know the High Druid only casts Stoneskin (and also has powerfeed), so either powerfeed is excellent or stoneskin is excellent or both, otherwise the Elder Druid is much better, more versatile.

Considering the Endurance animation is a large rock covering your units, kinda like how Stoneskin used to look, I'd bet that this is yet another case of Nival screwing up the spell name description.

Maybe..wouldnt doubt that. But maybe stoneskin really are something new. Like adding defence and a slight...lets say 25% magical protection to the friendly stack against earth magic.

Or maybe they'll go the D&D way and have it protect you from the first X attacks or Y dmg.
