Where to pick up the Plate skill in MM7

From my understanding, you learn the Plate skill at an Armorsmith. However, at the armorshops on Emerald Island, Harmondale or Tularean Forest, none of the armorsmiths make it available to my Knight. It only shows "Chain" for a skill he can pick up.

Is there some quest I need to do first? Are there only certain towns that offer Plate? I am at a loss here.

Steadwick, the main city in Erathia.

It can also be learned at Stone City (home of the dwarves) in barrow downs.

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it might be learnable in Tatalia as well.

That's possible - there's Expert Plate teacher in Tatalia after all but I always learn it when I first visit Erathia. In Tatalia you can also grab the best non-artifact plate armor in the game - just sneak past the trolls, take also shield if you can and the rest. The more, the better.

Remember, there are two Armor & Weapon shops in Tatalia … one up the Hill by the Mercenary Guild and the other on the island with the Tidewater Caves.
