Hello
I've been reading these boards for sometime, and everyone here seems nice and respectful, not like some of those other kiddie boards where everyone is always ridiculing everyone else,so I decided to sign up.
I'm currently playing Dark Messiah Might And Magic & Heroes Of Might And Magic V,and enjoying them both.
Last week I picked up the complete collectors edition of Heroes Of Might And Magic III,on E-Bay for around $13.00.I'm not very far into V.
I was wondering if I should play the third and fourth games before the fifth? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to the forums, Lord Rogie!
Yes indeed! These forums are special .
Well , a lot of people think (myself included) that number 3 was the best one in the series. I personally didn't like 4 much. You can play 3 first, then play 4 and 5 to compare .

Welcome to the boards!
You really can't go wrong with any of the heroes games.
If you decide to play HOMM3 there is also a fan made mod called Wake of the Gods. And if you play HOMM4 there is a fan made mod called Equilibris that you'll want to download too.
As others have said it doesn't matter what order you play them in so maybe you'll want to go ahead and try HOMM5 first.

I must agree here that it's really good that we have a mature forum... I played some warcraft on battle net for a few days and I just got sick of all those kiddies calling themselves noobs all the time...
And all other forums where everyone bashes others and says he is the best...
All I'm trying to say is I like this place

hi Lord Rogie and welcome to RT
all heroes games are good,my recommendation is not to skip h4,some fan dont like it,but try and see for yourself...i find it best in the series so far
maybe we should have sticky thread in campfire where new member should say few words about themself after they have registered ?

Personally, I always found Heroes 2 to be the best of the series. Possibly cos it was the first one I played, having "discovered" it via a demo on a mag, then while at uni, having 8 player network games with my housemates often from 11am until 3am the next day, only breaking to pop some food in the microwave or to phone for a takeaway
