Ice Bolt or Lightning Bolt?

I've been wondering about this for a while now...here goes:

If you have both Master of Ice and Master of Storms, while also having Ice Bolt and Lightning Bolt, which spell works better for slowing down an opposing creature? (because the in-game description doesn't specify how the stun for Lightning Bolt works, at least in 1.3).

P.S: And while we're at it, we can try to answer an age-old question: Which spell is more effective? (because Lightning Bolt eventually outstrips Ice Bolt in terms of power, but that's highly dependent on proficiency with Destructive Magic and Spellpower).

Personally I like master of storms/Lightning bolt until you get chain lightning. Chance to 'stun' multiple creatures is just amazing. Just with dwarves the Master of fire special is needed for ignite, so pretty much you have to skip the other two .

As i remember chain lightning stuns the first target only...

Master of storms decreases the acumulated initiatiove,so its better when the creature is about to act.Master of ice secreases the rate at which it acumulates,so its better for targets that wont act soon,but are somewhere in the middle of the ATB bar.
