Can someone tell me what exactly does open beta means...is it like a beta which can be played by anyone??

sumalmamus: There hasn't been any other official date than Quarter 1. Unless you see a date that's said to come from Fabrice, don't take it all to seriously.

Mitzah: Yes, that's about it. All you have to do is to sign up- there is no selection process, so anyone that's interested will get to play.

Why would they have copy-protection in an open beta?

This is why:If they dont include it,most people will say"Hah!I knew it!Theyre afraid to release SF because they know its harmfull!"

However,if they do release it with HV,it will get cracked sooner.

So,I can only see one way out of this:Release SF in beta,and speed up the final release of the game.

The open beta for Heroes V will start on January 19th! Keep your eye out for further details on how to get involved and get your hands on the game months before release.

the open beta is tomorrow. friggin' tomorrow. whether it's US time or European it should be up by the time I get back from school. and since I don't have school on fridays (lazy ass schedule) this will be the best thursday ever.

I just hope you can play the beta single player as well.

the official forum thread doesn't seem to have any info. neither does the official site. they all say "keep your eyes blabla for info on how to get your hands on this game months before its release". or something.

I doubt they'd release the beta at 0001 (any time zone) so let's just go to bed and not kill ourselves anticipating this game.

but I have to say; it feels like christmas back when I was a kid right about now.
