If they are saying that there will be no commanders, well that is not something I'd weep for (at least not too much). The problem with projects of this size stems from one's ego alright. Salamandre here did indeed hit the "nail on the head", so to speak. It would be nice to see them taking the middle path, in other words, releasing a solid version 1.0 with that promised Pirate town, and then see if additional changes/extra material/far reaching engine modifications are in order/needed at all.
Sadly, by this point we must note that the project is progressing with the speed of a slug. Throw in the Menu of a fine French restaurant and the team will increase their speed a bit. But anyways, with HotA caught in an endless loop, and the much anticipated next version of Equilibris being likewise stuck down at the bottom of a Russian vodka bottle, there's not much hope left for us. The fan projects are subject to many real life related worries, but still...!
Let us hope that the promised Masters of Sighisoara II prologue map will arrive soon, let's say just in time for Christmas. That would be something, like a little first aid for sore wounds left open by the loss of interest to this other fan(atic) projects.

Don't worry if things are going badly today. They will be much worse tomorrow.
..which is probably healthier than trying to hold your breath for a year.ByteBandit wrote:I am one of these people who continue playing the games as they are without worrying about when a new release will come out or not.
I like a game called Eschalon. Book II was scheduled for release Feb 2009. It still isn't out. The HotA team is not alone, also the pro's do it.
To pass the time and ease our nerves, we could try and compile a list of projects that didn't finish in time .

Never heard of that particular project... Starcraft II is about the only commercial game I am waiting to be released, and one of extremely few I have ever waited for, and that's why I mentioned it...bonecollector wrote:by far not.obelisk v2.0 wrote:Starcraft II tops the list then, doesn't it?
I think i can safely say, that 'Duke Nukem Forever' (DNF) is the King of all Vaporware Products
(announced 1997, still not finished)
Hope HotA wont go the same way
+1 to your hopes... I would love to get a chance to play it someday..
Btw. I know that all screens have been already showed, but I found a gallery that shows probably all Kronverk units (even I haven't seen much of them) here it is.

Well in Screens section in Cove section Hippocamus have written that Cove screenshots will be released after release of Beta 0.1 (which won't be released for the public). So they probably still don't have Beta version, which means that it is still a very long time to wait...
But who knows what is going to happen in this time... :3

December 21st 2012, the very same day the Equilibris team shall publish their long-awaited version 3.6 of the Heroes IV balance mod.can someone tell me when will this game be released?
And remember that good things shall happen to those who are blessed with the gift of patience.
