For many years, Marzhin has been one of the biggest proponents for the development of Might and Magic X. In his latest post on the Open Dev Blog, The Quest for Might and Magic X, Marzhin tells us the story of the process leading up to today.
You probably don't remember the hint he gave a year ago about a "pet project"; his writing goes back to at least 2004. It is quite possible that without the efforts and keen interest of this now in-house fanboy, MMX might never have happened.
Have a good read!

Great Read!
The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

I have been hoping for a new M&M game ever since Ubisoft took over. Thank you a ton, Marzhin, for pushing as hard as you did on M&M XL. I, for one, aim to repay you by buying the game as soon as preorders are available, lol. Although Legacy isn't out yet, I'm extremely optimistic that Marzhin's effort will not have been in vain.
MMX: The Journey
Much respect!
I'm guessing we have him to thank for the H6 Xeen DLC stuff too.
Pity he never got around to finishing his Legends of the ancients series, it was brilliant!

I have difficulty with that as well; which is why I didn't understand the 'resting' of the demons. I have not paid much attention to this new universe. Having said that; I wrote most of the text for the TCC mod of MM6, which is sort of a different universe and enjoyed that game thanks to BDJ's programing and Vladimir-maestro's graphics. So I am hoping that the gameplay and story integration will be great. If so then I will enjoy the game. I may not buy it as a pre-order as I am waiting to see what version is coming to NA, but I will buy it.GreatEmerald wrote:The universe reboot to me is and has always been a complete deal-breaker.

Couldn't agree more. Still, thank you very much for your dedication, Marzhin.GreatEmerald wrote:Eh, I said it before and I suppose I'll say it again: it takes more than one person to weather the storm. While Marzhin's efforts are nice, they alone are not enough to make the games interesting enough to me. The universe reboot to me is and has always been a complete deal-breaker.
Make you strong places to dwell and practice the evil of your arts. Build great monuments to stand through the ages and remind your followers of the task with which you have been charged. Use these halls of iniquity to perpetrate your schemes against the infestation that has taken the fields and lakes of this land from you, their rightful masters. Never forget the hatred that must finally overcome and consume mankind. Dwell in your dungeons and brood. - Sheltem the Dark
