The Heroes Round Table

I was wondering how you use the special creature abilites during battle. For example, I've got some ancient tree ents that have the ability of taking root for better defense. How do I get them to do this?

I've Heroes installed on 2 computers and I would like to be able to transfer my saved games back and forth between each one. Does anyone know how this can be done? I looked in the Heroes directory but I couldn't find the files.
