Re: What's new?

H4MG sounds like just the thing I need. For Lost Crusade, I need to break the map down into smaller segments to reduce the complexity. It has hundreds of triggers and massive amounts of narrative text. Being able to copy and paste scripts will make that a lot easier. Then I can string the segments i...

What's new?

While moving to a new computer, I came across my old Heroes 3/4 maps and thought it might be fun to update them. But before I jump in, I thought I'd ask if there are any new developments in the world of mapmaking that I should know about. All of them are fairly intricate, especially Lost Crusade, so...

Advice on MM7 mods?

Hi Gang,

I've been away for a while, but I just picked up MM7 at GOG and would like some recommendations on mods I might enjoy. I'm running Win7.

Also, do you have any advice on party composition? Nothing too kinky -- I'm thinking Knight/Archer/Cleric/Sorcerer (light).

Cheers!

Greetings! Saw the expansion had come out and thought I'd drop by to see early impressions. The bad news is there's already a patch. The good news is the patch is here already. So I gotta go steaming and torrenting to put the damn thing together, and then wade back into the DRM muck to play. God how...

Mr Duncan, good to see you're still here. I assume you eventually got your degree and moved out into the professional world. Physical chemistry, wasn't it? If you recall, we once had an argument over the war in Afghanistan. I opposed it from the start, while you thought the government knew better. Y...

Have I been absent long enough to post here? I guess so, as my login on the main site seems to have expired. I really appreciated Kalah's post mortem on Heroes VI. I feel just about the same with an extra helping of disappointment with the editor. I just hit my 64th birthday and though I'm still a y...

I'm liking: Enlightenment - nice to start with Resurrection - helps early creeping Wind Screen 1/2 - like the Daze effect Logistics - I wait till I meet an AI hero who thinks he's out of my range Pathfinding - another basic Diplomacy - wishful thinking? sometimes get hits so it might be working Ment...

Just about to play Inferno for the first time, so I'll take your advice. Thoughts on upgrade priorities? Sun Riders: They take up space and move soon enough to get into blocking position. A single unit has enough HP to avoid taking losses in light attacks. They are also just fast enough that you hav...

Ok, 8 pages later, here's my comment: Disabling Conversion solves a lot of problems -You limit scope of combined recruiting -You encourage development of multiple heroes -You encourage use of mixed armies -You make town type a factor in setting objectives Also, a mapmaker might: -Limit hero availabi...

Count me in. I've been hooked since the original King's Bounty and have been suffering from deep depression through Heroes V. From what I see so far, the game is in good hands. Now where can I find out more about the editor? I miss map making the most.

"Castle" is not bad. The mysteries are fairly good so far. I hear it has been picked up for the Fall.

Actually, it has been proven that 1 = 1/2: We can re-write the infinite series 1/(1*3) + 1/(3*5) + 1/(5*7) + 1/(7*9) +... as 1/2((1/1 - 1/3) + (1/3 - 1/5) + (1/5 - 1/7) + (1/7 - 1/9) + ... ). All terms after 1/1 cancel, so that the sum is 1/2. We can also re-write the series as (1/1 - 2/3) + (2/3 - ...

So what's going to happen next season? Do we start over as if there was no crash? But what about everyone else -- who are still on the island and interacted in important ways with the Oceanic survivors?

The problem with Quantum of Solace is the less than world shattering threat posed by this weenie supervillain (and Elvis his sidekick). The dastardly plot is what? To control the price of 60% of the water in Bolivia. I guess it's the off season for MI6.
