Re: Undead (Necropolis) faction lore
I'm not sure why a connection would be an issue, though. As I said - personal preference. But you're the big boss here. ^^ The latter are more powerful, have more depth, and are essentially otherworldly The very nature of the Undead themselves, as I think, restricts their origins to the mortals. Af...

Re: Undead (Necropolis) faction lore
Panda, I perfectly remember that I need ti detach myself from Heroes, that's why I said "H4 and other games"!^^ I hate Demon&Necro merging wherever I see it. I believe only Divinity series managed to "combine" them in a way that doesn't look disgusting to me.

Re: Undead (Necropolis) faction lore
Hello Groovy! Glad you still remember me. ^^ I'm strongly against any type of merging/connection between Demons and Undead in any universe/setting. The wounds of H4 and other games are still fresh for me. Just personal preference, no objective arguments here, I hope you'll understand. No offence, bu...

Yep, it's a tree spider, special for those with Spider allergy.Galaad wrote:Is ... Is this a ... Tree Spider?

The image is taken from the Disciples III videogame, although I believe the text description makes it clear that Gvorns can be any shapes and sizes, the point here is that they're dead trees.

Re: Undead (Necropolis) faction lore
Hello! First of all, I would like to apologize for a long absense (work, other projects etc). Today I will present 6 creatures. The narrator is Sandro. P.S.: Argh, finally I was able to post something! I lost my message 2 (!!!) times, even previews deleted my text, great I had the text saved elsewhe...

Ok guys. I've decided to post things that are set in stone (I hope) and break the inevitably big post into smaller parts. You may also consider them to be divided by categories. The most exotic ones will come in the end. The narrator is Sandro. In the following weeks I will tell you about the genera...

Hello again! I would like to assure the team that I continue to work on Necopolis lore. The nest post would be about Undead types and their troops (in general). The thing is, I don't have much free time recently + I already created at least 2 drafts of units but deleted them (didn't like the result)...

I really like how this is shaping up. Not to mention the artwork! In the Heroic world, dragons, of course, can kill. I understand that Dracolich, as an observer, cannot kill, but I don't understand where the legend that dragons can't kill comes from. Thanks! I've wasted an hour to finally find some...

Meet the Dracolich!
Ok, I'm not ashamed to say that writing "exotic" creatures/heroes is more interesting for me (and harder btw). That is, I think, 1,5 day creation (I knew I would have Dracolich and Demilich, but I haven't even a slightest idea what they'll be in-universe). One of the most difficult parts w...

Believe me or not, it's my random idea created in one day litterally. I kinda act like idea generator ^_^ Another day I might develop another 9 heroes ^_^ You can use them for background. Or grap one of them as a Hero. Or make them not Heroes, but something akin to (maybe neutral) unique creatures. ...

No Undead types today, my mind picked another thing and developed it ^_^ Introducing the 9 Undead Masters of the Black Sands! They're 9 near mythological creatures in-universe, which, according to historians, appeared after the great World War. They all claim to have learnt the art from Nethos himse...

Thanks! But that line was intended for everybody to know (as I wrote) - Panda, WO, Galaad etc. More opinions, the better ^_^ It wasn't directed to you personally.Groovy wrote: I'll provide feedback whenever I can. HoMM is full of them. All HoMM dwellings reproduce the same way, be they living, undead, constructs or magical. This won't be the case in Heroic. No. I'm going with a variant of the Buddhist idea of rebirth. Depending on what you want to use souls for, you might still be able to do it because the u...

Another undead-specific feature is the creature growth. The undead don't reproduce like living creatures. The only way to grow their numbers is with necromancy. This probably affects the game mechanics far more than the lore, but it might be worth keeping in mind. I believe that's pretty obvious ;)...

Re: On the Necros
That text was written for the novel, not the game. The 'animals' group was intended to include people. I've now changed it to "only creatures have intellect" to avoid confusion, since the game has finer-grained categories and clearly distinguishes people (folk) from animals. Thanks for cl...

On the Necros
Ok, as you might have guessed, I'm Necrofan, and it was pretty predictable the first thing I'll do is think about Necromancers. First of all, I find it quite strange that "only animals and plants have intellect", it's very counterintuitive, but I'm here to help, not break down already esta...
