Hurray!!!

After installing WoW and Equilibris...I decided for a lark to try my "bad" map.

And wows...IT PLAYS!!!

The map I spent the entire summer of 2004 making...I finally now get to play it for the first time!

Whatever the problem was...WoW and/or Equilibris fixed it good!

On my most recent Heroes IV map, "Terrak" , I put in some lockpicking guild questhuts in order to give players the pseudo-ability of lockpicking, which is then utilized when opening the Pandora's Boxes. I soon realized because this is a multiplayer map that one "LockpickingSkill"...

To answer the original query about Sleeping/Waking armies: If my army doesn't have Summon Ship and/or I don't want to give another player access to a certain body of water by abandoning my ship, then I will leave one of the army's weakest creatures aboard the ship when the rest of the arm disembarks...

I have made a Heroes IV map of Middle Earth.

I tried to follow Tolkein's map and books...difficult to make it very playable because of there being so few towns in Middle Earth.

I have also noticed that the AI needs a clear path from its heroes' starting point.

If there are too many resources surrounding one of their heroes, that hero may go nowhere.

(Also artifacts - sometimes the AI doesn't pick them up - so they might block the way.)

I spent an entire summer creating a HOMM IV Gathering Storm extra-large two-level map...but when I run it the game says "Mapname is bad." (Of course I was stupid enough when making it to not to "save as" as I was going along...so there's no way to revert to an earlier version.) I...
