I had the same problem. What helped me was to UNEQUIP the tarot cards

Finally got through the portal, the trick was to not have the tarot cards equipped. Didn't see that one coming since the goal was to acquire those. And I did try to go through the portal several times in a row. I even replayd the map twice to get back to that point.

I am stuck on that map, please help me fellow HoMM enthusiasts. The problem is I can't get through the second seers hut portal. I have 20 knowledge, got every single item, visited every spot. What more do I have to do to get through? Any help is greatly appreciated.
