There's a way to set teams using the map editor i think, but i honestly cannot tell you how to do so, i'm sure some guy ou there will soon explain you this. Concerning HOF maps i downloaded some made by users and found none really cool, maybe island of wonder, which can be downloaded via the main pa...

It would be really great, and allow lot of imagination for its units, still you could inspire from the skaven civilisation in warhammer. For their background, they could be the first (only) born and living almost totally underground. Dark elves are normal castaway elves, and dwarven should have been...

@Lyan. Has nothing to do with the battlefield. Even if you couldn't reach the opponent, you could use Storm Bolt. hum... stormbolt would have done, not even a tenth of the total damage i dealt with storm strike + the rune on the battlefields we have now, and even less (due to a larger deployment zo...

I don't see your point. IN H 3 battles often were over after the first action of the battle, no matter the fact that not only the BF was bigger in terms of hexes (165 I think to 120) the armies took less space as well (Between 8 for Inferno and 11 for Fortress, I think, and 16 now) and there was no...

You just lost in a hot seat game...
You and some of your friends very fond of HOMM, decided to play a huge hotseat game ! (damn cool ! Beers, pals, heroes, cheerleading naked girls wanting to divert you while waiting for you friends to play...). All your pals know your a very good player, you play on the highest difficulties, sometime...

in their actual form they are somehow too powerfull to be easyer to get, except maybe the knight's one. But protection, luck, gatting ... gives you such an advantage on your opponent... the finality of this is that they are simply useless actually. Making them easyer to get would simply be a mistak...

For sure furries are a wonderfull unit, still i think i would take the black dragons, the sole excpetion would be if i had already some Furries in my army and no black dragons. Magic imunity, flyer, Hpbox, firebreath says a lot of it. The BD can quickly make a fearfullgroup of shooters useless, by a...

If you play Heroes since 10 years you'll know that 1 fast no-retal unit in Heroes III could beat any number of slow units. For example an Arch Devil could beat any number of Skeletons. With the initiative system this is even more pronounced and the only limiting factor is the size of the battlefiel...

I always knew Campains weren't for me...
I got a day off this monday, happy of this i decided that i would give HoF's campains a try on Sunday night ! (i'm not very fond of campains usually) I completed the first two missions without pain, and thought the third would follow the same way. That was my big mistake. It's about the mission diff...

Not a surprise here, but I disagree with the initial post. Massively. 1) Larger battlefields allow fast no-retaliation units to beat each number of slower opponents. With a very big battlefield you need only a unit that has MARGINALLY more initiative than another and ONE more speed and you can beat...

Trader's town, Sinedon.
As it's a brand new civilisation, lemme give you a glance of the background i immagine for them. Centuries ago, some traders established themself in a small and unwelcoming region called Sinedon. The first traders to establish there were humans, accabled by the always growing taxes the griffin empir...

I'd need more details to be convinced. Bluntly, it sounds like a bad idea -- maybe worse than the Naga town. Minotaurs are just not interesting enough to warrant adding 12 more types of them to the game. I share caradoc's point on this one. I would add that i can't really see the minautors as a civ...

Outside the campaigns, I've only had the ultimates a few times, and by then the game was almost over. There is a map (Isles of Terra, I think) where you can get a prisoner who has the ultimate. Getting it early in the game without having to traverse the entire skill tree makes it very useful. Great...

you could even have an encylopedia about this, i wouldn't mind. Still there's a thread about implementing new BF, ruins, special combat situation ect... but yet it's not the point. New Bf of the same size would change absolutely nothing, they can add as many obstacles as they wish, it wouldn't chang...

Battlefields Size
In an other topic a well inspired player disscussed the importance of creating new battlefield to refresh the game. I totally agree on this, new battlefield will refresh the game more than any race could do since this would affect each existing race. I have for a long time a somehow similar yet also...
