Ubisoft to Drop Starforce

A French community manager just <a href="/http://forums-fr.ubi.com/groupee/forums ... nounced</a> that the copy protection Ubisoft will use for its upcoming games will <i>not</i> be Starforce. Also, his colleague Fabrice Cambounet <a href="/http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/ ... >confirmed on the official forum</a> that Heroes V will not include Starforce. There is no information about what kind of copy protection will be used instead, but those news will be a huge relief for the fans of the Heroes series.

WOW! First we get the game delayed, and now no SF! OMFG, the karmic payback on this one is gonna be a biatch.

And the Sony rootkit was idiotic, it probably helped pirates more than hurt them.

OMG is it true? Someone pinch me quick … to make sure I'm not dreaming. After almost a year of hoping, UbiSoft has finally done the right thing. This is huge! Thank you UbiSoft. Now I can look forward to playing Heroes V all summer long … and beyond!
