First, try to use this pack (unpack it into game folder, replacing existing files): https://gitlab.com/cthscr/mmmerge/-/arc ... e-comm.zip
And add line "DisableHooks=44D96C,44DD9A,4541C9,47DA26,47DAA8,497A69" (without quotes) to [Settings] section of mm8.ini.
This should be compatible with latest MMPacth and your savegame.

If it won't work, you can get old version from this link, posted in MMMerge aka Merge 678 links topic.

Apologies for actually having to do this, but after spending half an hour trawling back through previous posts, for some reason I can't easily find any link for the base manual for the merge mod in this thread - ie new potion recipes, location of high-magic areas for contintent-hopping etc. Can we please add to the first post on this thread? Thanks!

There's a major bug in latest version of MM merge:
knights cannot use fly and water walk scrolls it fails with 100% chance.. rip solo knight runs..

Spells fails, just like with cursed condition. In vanilla you can use scrolls, cannot fly tho..

You are trying to run Base Merge while having [in your savegame] class 53 which is (and was) absent in Base Merge. Perhaps you weren't using Base Merge earlier. Don't mix different variants. Savegame compatibility works only from Base to Comm/Revamp, not the other way.

Use Dark Elf or Vampire race Knight and learn Meditation. Or hire respective NPCs.
For the inability to use mana-draining scrolls, doesn't look like a bug, more like bug fix. (Inb4, you can check vanilla MM8 with latest GrayFace's patch and see the same behavior.)

Is this mod recommended for a first (and only) playthrough? I started a few days ago (MM6) with just GrayFace mod and then stumbled across this. But I don't wanna "ruin" the intended experience, so what's recommended? Also, does this mod have any graphical improvements?

Apart from the addition of further content specific to the merge, the content of the individual games is not changed. Although:

* you might consider the "intended" experience to be finishing each game story individually, rather than being able to jump between all three. You can achieve this anyway by simply not jumping to other continents until you finish the previous. But when you then eventually jump to the next game, you will be "starting" (continuing) with a developed party. You can adjust for this by increasing monster difficulty, but this is different to the experience of starting each game with a novice party

* you might consider the "intended" experience to be playing with the intended race/Class options in each original game. One of the big changes for the Merge Mod is the ability to mix & match from options across all three games, regardless of where you start. Again, you can adjust for this by simply selecting from only those options that were available in the original version of your starting continent, but also again, these would no longer be the "original" options once you jump to the next continent. Also, once you've fully promoted your characters, there would potentially be less enjoyment once you jump to another continent and have nobody to benefit from the promotion quests available there


Whether any of this "ruins" the experience is probably for you to judge. IMO it should be considered a new, larger, combined game, rather than playing the individual games, if that helps.


No graphical improvements in terms of quality - there is a new weather toggle but this only applies to existing weather effects from the individual games. And some of the mods have expanded character portrait and paper doll options, but again not an "improvement"

So just read through the Merge Tracker again, and missed something previously: does Meditation skill now include SP regeneration? The comment was that SP-regen items are now essentially useless: at what level of Meditation does the SP regen kick in (ie base, Expert etc), does the regen amount increase with increased Meditation level, and at what point does it "match" the regen value of items? Thanks!

I get spell points regen with 1 point meditation.

I see many groups of badies on the Horizon hovering...

See, this is exactly why it is a bug- u should have opportunity to use sly and water walk scrolls with mana regen item or meditation..
because it just fails and you cannot use it. fly scrolls aren't that common, niither hirelings are. and you cannot learn master/grand plate because you cannot get to secont floor of Castle Stone..
Also in vanilla you could use potion of divine magic that anyone could make to give temp 100 mp to knight..

Hello,
having a weird crash, when i try to promote my sorcerer to lich, if he has the book of kel and a jar, the game crashes, i found a work around it that if i let somebody else have the book and the sorcerer has the jar he can be promoted to lich however if i try to move any item in the lich's inventory the game crashes.

Hello guys,
May I ask you, is possible check my save game data for error please? I had some isues because of wrong translation with czech language in past, i play a long time in english but since level 40 (i am 90 now) i didnt meet anyone who can i take to my party. I am now at the end of 7 parth. Please can you check it ? Thank you very much.

I think this is bug that in Tularean Forest, I can enter Clanker's Laboratory at the very beginning of the game, before taking the path, and this will result in an immediate crash.

Foremost, huge KUDOS to the Merge team.
Playing through MM6, 7, 8 with a unique party, combined from each world gives just totally new and better experience. (Despite I would miss the training part when entering other world with high-level party -> no more searching for promotions or trainers needed, as all members are practically maxed up)

Hiatus side effects: most of relics, that boost primary 7 stats become less attractive (as after combining black potions, hundreds of genie lamps, dozens of wells and shrines, getting my stats to 200+ without spells or artifacts is normal) so I found myself selling one relic after another :) But well, all the hype about relics was slot-machine related addiction, hence it is probably good to get rid of it.

What I never experienced before - visiting any region or any dungeon right off the bat (entering Enroth with 75+ level party) and in few weeks hunting dragons in Kriegspire or clearing Pyramid... felt quite ecstatic. Especially as it is easy to travel in between world freely.

The new main quest was also tailored with this in mind : traveling through various worlds and hunting for rare items. (O gosh, I spent like 12 hours looking for one citrine... I had all other 8 gems gathered in 30-40 minutes, but citrine, that foker could not be found no matter where I looked)
Also the Philosopher stones - found 5 in Clanker's lab, another 4 in Eofol, and then, no matter laboratory or world / region I visited or what shop I browsed through - it was pretty difficult to get the 10th.

Nevertheless, I got the Telelocator - but after that, it seems like the quest-line was closed. I understood that I was supposed to find heroes with it, and when using it, I should enter a name (name of NPC, item or monster) but there was no quest in my quest list assigned to this - so it looks just like a handy tool, that can help me locate things/people, but the Merge specific quest - story line is at the end and does not evolve anymore, correct?

You have 4 extra characters in your party, and 4 extra characters sitting in Adventurer's Inn of Enroth. Current limit of random characters is 8, so you meet it. To get more hireable NPCs you must dismiss some first, using Dismiss button of Adventurer's Inn screen, character will be dismissed forever, thus freeing spot for game to generate new one.

Make sure you have done this:
