Week of...
Random events, like the weeks (and what skills/stats your heroes get offered) are pre-assigned at the start of the map. If you restart the map those things will be different, but you can't reload and get a different result.
It means if you get a level up you hate, you have to reload and take a different level up path, or else restart.

i disagree. the fun thing about "Week of..." isn't that there is an effect, but rather that you know there is going to be an effect. i always hold my breath at the end of the week praying for something that will give me a boost. it is quite a fun way to mark the passage of time in the game, and to make it feel like there are events even more foundational than the conflict of mighty heroes -- the havens are at work too!DaemianLucifer wrote:Instead of weeks, random events would be way better.Every day, there could be a chance(lets say 10%)for a random event.Something like lossing half the gold to thiefs, riot in a certain town preventing building for that day, better training gives more recruits, etc.

Oh sure,it is quite fun to loose after hours of playing just because you got the wrong week.Hambone wrote:i disagree. the fun thing about "Week of..." isn't that there is an effect, but rather that you know there is going to be an effect. i always hold my breath at the end of the week praying for something that will give me a boost. it is quite a fun way to mark the passage of time in the game, and to make it feel like there are events even more foundational than the conflict of mighty heroes -- the havens are at work too!
I do like all the new special "week of"s that aren't of in game units, but I personally don't like that there are so many that have absolutely no bearing on anything in the game. It's like thanks for the waste of a week that does absolutely nothing. Just take those out and only leave in the ones that actually do something.

I disagree, that would be a bit too much, having every week bear some significance or impact. It would take away the aura of something special happening.King Imp wrote:I do like all the new special "week of"s that aren't of in game units, but I personally don't like that there are so many that have absolutely no bearing on anything in the game. Jesus saves, Allah forgives, Cthulhu thinks you'd make a nice sandwich.
I think the week of... enhancement is good, as it forces you to use all your skills rather than put a pin into weeks and say that week will boost my skills etc etc.
It makes life more interesting, IMO, and to be honest but a bit harsh if you didn't plan the possibly of getting a pop wipe due to a week of the plague then you weren't open minded enough in your game plan.
