I believe they have been used as decoration only on churches and possibly some castles.

The HoMM3 one looks more like a statue, like it's made of stone. That's how it's supposed to be.

H2 was my vote. Something about the evolution of the gargoyle into what is became for H5 bothers me, but I think my dismay has more to do with the constant switching of factions of this creature. I still think it should be a warlock's tool, but when a creature goes from Chaos to Order to neutral dead, it just confuses me.

I voted H2 but I also like the H3 gargoyles (they look quite gargoylish IMO) and H4 too.

I did'nt like the HI gargoyles, especially their sound, and H5 could look better...

On my street there's a haunted house (all the nerighbourhood kids call it that) and there are no gargoyles, instead there are alot of black cats who are really creepy...

voted h3. would have voted h3 upg if it was available.

i almost never vote h3. while excellent game, its graphics were usually undetailed. but here it beats the hell out of the rest.

h1 is a cyan undead with wings. h2 is pretty, but those little horns are strange. h3 looks mean sadistic enchanted statue, espec obsidian, and i like that. h4 looks like ape with wings. h5 looks like a box, an ornamented grey box.

H3 for me.H2 doesn't look as realistic(though it was certainly more fun to use :) ),H4 had a...strange head and bad flying animation(plus being a creature of death ticked me off) and H5 is an automated flying cube.I kinda like the way it attacks though!
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

A realistic Gargoyle?! H2 does look more like the real thing imo.

And could the mods be so kind to move this one to the H1-4 forum?

I love the H2 gargoyle. Those sounds when it moves and dies, and the cool blue lasers from it's eyes are awesome.
