As WayBack machine shows, CH started 2001 on the roots of "Unleashed" from 1999 (?). As for design and "the news" you can see it here.
For seeing news from Unleashed site, scroll down and pick one of the links.
I laughed about H3 Sacrifice bug, but true there were more (like Gremlin's Rush). Certainly a sweet spots.
All the history in one place.

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
The site was updated nearly every day back then. Good times!
Re: Celestial Heavens - History
I didn't know CH from back then. I signed up on August, 2003.

Oh wow. I remember that site. But I joined latish. I do remember Angelspit doing the lions share of the work.

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
So the site (including its previous version) is turning 20 this year.
Fun fact: Before I took over Celestial Heavens Unleashed, I considered starting a site from scratch instead, and worked on a very basis prototype. Originally, the name was to be The Watchtower, until I realized this was the name of the Jehovah's Witnesses' journal (!). Fortunately I ended up going on a different path.

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
I found the sites scouring for maps and ended up finding a community. It really turned into an RPG/TBS anonymous group. I've probably logged a thousand days playing these games. Just one more turn and then I'm going to bed!

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
Found this site a while back, and for prolly the first few years I didn't really post much. But with what's going on in the MM6-8 merge, I've been coming back here daily just to see updates and what's going on, and throw in a few suggestions I have of my own. Crazy to think that this site started out back when MM8 came out. Had I known about it then- Hhhoooo-boy, I would have been on here a lot more often. I finally found a group of people who are as passionate, if not even more so (and rightfully so, holy shit the stuff the Modders are doing to both the HoMM and MM series is AMAZING!), about the might and magic series as I am. Thanks for helping a introvert come out of their shell and feel welcome.
Re: Celestial Heavens - History
Didn't realize the site (including the old CHU site handled by someone else) turned 25 this year.
Re: Celestial Heavens - History
That's indeed true, though I don't know exact day, only year.

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
The major problem for me is, that I don't know url of HoMM III. Unleashed - so I can't check the site in wayback machine. And though determine, the date.
Forge Incident - this shaped the future, sadly. Missing idea of Naga Tanks done by Archibald Necro advisors.

Re: Celestial Heavens - History
The whole content was on StrategyPlanet when I took over. I have no idea where the Unleashed site was exactly. I don't think they had their own domain. Belenus probably doesn't remember either, it's been so long.
Re: Celestial Heavens - History
Getting that from the better perspective of things, we can celebrate whole year.
